For 95 years, Girl Scouts has empowered girls to be self-sufficient, independent, and resourceful.  This program has become the leading entrepreneurial program for girls and an American icon – Girl Scout Cookies.   Local councils across the country, including Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails, participate in two entrepreneurial and financial literacy programs each year  the annual Girl Scout Cookie activity and the fall MagNut activity.   These activities help girls develop a wide range of skills, including entrepreneurship, money management, decision-making, goal setting, and teamwork just to name a few. In addition to helping girls develop the key skills to become independent and social leaders, these activities also help fund their troop activities for the year. You can help support these girls by purchasing a box of cookies, a package of nuts or chocolates, or renewing your magazine subscriptions through your local Girl Scout troop.
